The Vision Council serves as the global voice for vision care products and services.  The Lab Division Liaison will be responsible for interacting with, and understanding the unique perspectives and issues of its members.  The Liaison also is responsible for the development and facilitation of programs and solutions that meet the needs of its constituents, and will work with members to be successful in a competitive marketplace through education, advocacy, consumer outreach, strategic relationship building, and industry forums.

 The Lab Division Liaison reports to the Vice President of Member Relations.


  • Oversee all lab division related activities and operations;
  • Proactively work with lab division leadership to develop division goals.  This entails scheduling and attending division and task force meetings and teleconferences;
  • Solicit member companies to join the organization;
  • Work in conjunction with membership and marketing departments to develop recruitment strategies and metrics for membership campaigns;
  • Initiate contact/visits with lab division member companies to learn their needs and determine satisfaction with membership; 
  • Make recommendations for improvement and design of related services;
  • Work with TVC staff to ensure efficient execution of programs;
  • Work with lab division leadership and TVC staff to develop timely and appropriate meeting content, agendas and events;
  • Monitor TVC's Statistics Committee and coordinate and report projects and deliverables related to and benefiting the division;
  • Coordinate and proactively address current and new lab division related issues with the division chair and all TVC staff for presentation to the division and its members; and
  • Work closely with technical staff and division chair to represent member interests at meetings of national and international standards organizations, serving as a resource for technical related issues.
  • Write quarterly newsletters to provide updates on lab division programs/activities.


  • Ability to serve as main point of contact for all lab division members.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with lab division members to ensure a clear exchange of information and concepts.
  • High level communication and persuasive skills to assist in promoting the vision.
  • Strong interpersonal and judgment skill.
  • Technical and media savvy.


  • Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of related experience preferred.
  • Industry experience in an optical laboratory or laboratory related setting.
  • Leadership experience with progressively broader responsibilities, including management of complex projects, cross functional teams and customer relations.  
  • Experience in financial management.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
