 Position Title: Professional Relations Manager, Think About Your Eyes

 

Position Description:            

Think About Your Eyes (TAYE) is a national public awareness campaign designed to educate the public on the importance of getting and annual comprehensive eye exam. The campaign is presented by The Vision Council and the American Optometric Association and supported by several industry partners.  The Professional Relations Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships among our eye care professionals (ODs, paraoptometric, and Opticians) and other related associations and not-for-profit organizations.  The Professional Relations Manager will be responsible for increasing engagement and developing resources for these stakeholders that enhance and extend the reach of our campaign.

 

Reports to:      Executive Director

 

 Essential Responsibilities: 

1)      Engage eye care professional community

  • Develop and implement effective messaging and communications plan that increases the knowledge of and support for the TAYE campaign among eye care professionals (ODs, Paraoptometric professionals, Opticians).
  • Plan and manage TAYE activities at events at professional conferences and meetings.
  • Develop and support a network of TAYE Ambassadors to serve as advocates and campaign champions.
  • Work with TAYE Marketing Director and TAYE Business Development Director to leverage ECP relationships to extend campaign reach

 

2)      Relationships with related associations and non-profit organizations

 

  • Serve as primary point of contact for association and not-for-profit partners organizations.
  • Develop and implement outreach and communications plan for new and existing partners.
  • Create reports, presentations, articles, and other creative content for meetings and events.
  • Collaborate with organizational partners to create educational and other resources needed in support of the TAYE campaign.
  • Represent TAYE at meetings and events.
  • Work with TAYE Executive Director to build strong network of not-for-profit organizational support within health and wellness, education, and eye care communities.

 

 Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Advisory Board and cross functional departments on the overall strategic direction of TAYE.
  • All other special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct supervisory responsibility.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Three to five years of experience preferably in an association or other not-for-profit. Health care experience a plus.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills and ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete plans
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with great attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of humor
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills working with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in marketing, communications or related field
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Some travel required.
